Reader Input Challenge: Name the Hero's Landscaping Firm

Okay, creative people, I am really excited (and nervous) about this Reader Input Challenge.

Our sexy, swoony male love interest is a landscape architect who runs his own company in the town of Lakeside in Washington State. And I'd love for you to name it!

This is a big one. The name of the firm shows up repeatedly throughout the novel and is central to the story.

The Firm

The landscaping business specializes in complex projects, often near bodies of water. They have approximately twenty-five employees.

Some examples of the kind of work they do include state park restoration, city waterfront redevelopment and high-end residential estate design.

They are known for transforming the most difficult terrain into stunning, tranquil oases. (Oasises? Oasi?) Their landscapes typically include some architectural elements, including dock restoration, unique decking, gazebos and maybe even a helipad. (Cause who doesn't need a helipad??)

The Focus

The name should align with the kind of work the company does. It could reflect the area (the town of Lakeside, Washington State) but doesn't need to. It could convey their focus on lakeside or lakefront landscaping but shouldn't sound limited to residential properties on the lake.

The Words

I love puns, but our Hero isn't super punny, so the name shouldn't be too cutesy. It should sound professional. Maybe even masculine. Picture it on the side of a rugged, sexy truck. (Ooh! I've got goosebumps!) If you're feeling frisky, add a tagline.

The Prize

As with all Reader Input Challenges, my intention is to use the winning name in my upcoming romantic comedy novel and acknowledge the winner and their contribution on my website, in social media, and in the acknowledgments of my book!

That said, the process of getting a book written, edited and published is new to me. I know a lot will change before my novel gets into your hands or into your eReader. So unfortunately, I can't guarantee what will make it into the final book.

Regardless, the winner of the challenge will receive an adorable little flowerpot, compressed potting soil and a package of Forget-Me-Not seeds, valued at roughly $22 USD plus shipping.  Check out the picture of my little pot of Forget-Me-Nots about five days after planting.

flowerpot with forget-me-nots winning prize

If you win, you certainly are not required to accept the gift! But please know that I wouldn't share your mailing address or use it for anything other than mailing your prize.

Please take a look at the legalese before sharing your ideas.

Reader Input Challenges

Thank you for taking part in these challenges and joining me on this adventure of writing a romantic comedy novel. The end is in sight! (Not just around the corner, but in sight. Possibly through a long-range telescope.)

The Lawn Ranger. Perhaps it is too cutesy.. Passes the 'masculinity', ruggedness, and truck attributes ;-)

Ha! Love it, Bobby. Maybe too punny for our hero, but it's a fabulous business name 😆

Wow, you're fast! It only shows up as 'guest.' If you add a name or 'handle,' then I know who to contact if one of your entries ends up winning :-) If you'd prefer, you can also send it to me through the contact form on my homepage. Thank you!!
